Busy, busy, busy

I guess it was last week sometime. Everything is kind of a daze these days. (daze--days--ha, I love homophones in the same sentence.) Anyways, Gareth and April are driving cross-country from SanDiego to Atlanta GA. They are hitting up as much family as possible in their brief time. We haven't seen Gareth since he was courting his wife so it was nice for a visit since that was a year and a half ago. It was a little crazy though since I had a 2 week old. And Lizzie's bunch came over as well so we could all be together. They only hung out for a couple of hours in the evening though. So it was perfect. (They even brought me bbq.) And so the kids made a mess and the adults chatted. (I want to paint that huge entertainment center. What color? black, cream, robin's egg blue...I just don't know.)
Jordan was taking paprazzi pictures and I forgot Gareth is camera shy. (Kind of random but its still crazy to me because he married my RS president from my single days in UT.) It was fun to see them together and what kind of couple they are. I always worried what kind of girls my brothers would bring into our female majority family. They did good. Real good.I should find all the pictures of Jordan with guests at the door as they are leaving. He really likes these pictures. This is right after Jonah started freaking out about something...maybe Logan leaving. Anyways, I decided use my distract technique of calming him down and told him a story. Since Gareth was here, I told one about him. When we were in 4th and 5th grade, G and I walked home together. Usually, he had at least a couple of friends with him and I kind of walked behind him or to the side. I was shy. Anyways, one day, this kid, Daven Henderson, started kicking this dead squirrel at me. I was about to lay into the kid...because despite my shyness if you tick me off watch out. Uh...so, I was about to lay into the kid, when my brother came to the rescue. I don't remember what he did but I remember thinking, "Wow, he totally is a good big brother." I felt so loved that day because I was important.
I told that story and then I asked Gareth if he remembered it and April chimed in, "He told me that story." Which made me feel loved all over again, because he had known what he was doing. I love my brother.

This is the way I look until noonish most days. YIKES!!! Happy but not so stylin. And I really need a full body shot to get the full effect of this picture. My momma made this maternity shirt. (She likes bold floral prints.) Anyways, its about 10 inches too short so I have to wear pants that are really high. Luckily, my aunt that is like 5'10 gave me some red santa-y pants that are capable of being pulled up to my chest so I look absolutely marvelous in my bold floral print shirt and Santa pants.
Jonah and I have been trying to do school again. Unfortunately, I'm tired a LOT. I end up trying to get all 3 asleep for naps at the same time only to have them stagger it so I'm just frustrated for 1.5 hours and still don't get a nap. oh well...we did work on some painting. I love how serious he looks sometimes.
This was our "G is for grapes" lesson. We found random lids and made circles. He painted them in. We even had to mix the colors as I only have primary colors and he enjoyed saying, "NO, that's not what color they are." And then, the other day he informed Jordan that he had gotten the wrong color grapes. Jonah said, "DAD! I like the green grapes. These are the wrong ones." Poor Jordy, I complain about his shopping too. Thank you for shopping even though we are a bunch of cranky complainers.
August...I almost wrote Auggie...what's wrong with me.
Even August is horrified about being called Auggie.Nolan loves his brother. In fact, he likes to grab at him and say, "Come, come!" in that cute little toddler voice where not every syllable is pronounced. Again, August looking startled and slightly cross-eyed.He has a little red birthmark above his upper lip right in that little dent.

Jonah being a baby with August.
Nolan says, "No look this way...." Dad says after taking a picture, "hey stop." Actually, Nolan is surprisingly gentle. Jonah a little too rough sometimes.Jonah being a ghost. (I guess I can take pumpkin Jonah down now.)
August scared of the ghost jonah.
the boys together.
Both big boys being babies. They even whimpered.
And finally this is today. We got a lovely blanket from Grammer. (I actually have the tutorial for this blanket bookmarked on my computer to make...same taste in blankets...not so much in shirts. Love ya mom.)
And here August christened it by puking on it.
And our living room is clean now despite the previous pictures. WE had to clean up for a little movie night. Jonah and I raced dad. Dad cleaned the kitchen. We cleaned the living room. Jonah even vacuumed. (that's the hardest word to spell.) We watched "UP" and ate ice cream and we all sat on the couch. Perfect until after baths when the boys hate going to bed and scream a LOT.
I sure do love them though. Then end.

Last Christmas

If you scroll down to the playlist, you'll see a compilation of covers of the worst Christmas song... EVER

The only one that is semi good is Taylor Swift's version, but even that's bearly tolerable.

dead phones

apparently, we need new phones because I just tried to use both phones and both are dead. and they die every day no matter how long we talk on them...i guess we could just get batteries but batteries are no fun.

weird why on earth would you need a submersible phone? I mean are you afraid you'll drop it in the toilet? Its not like a cell phone you carry everywhere. weird.

2 week 1 day

We had August's appt yesterday. He weighed in at 8lbs 1oz. At 2 weeks they are suppose to be at their birth weight. He's only 9 oz away...no biggie, right? The pediatrician wasn't too concerned but we do have a weigh-in again next week. He said he'd be worried then if he isn't up to his birth weight. I'm slightly stressed but not too worried. Jonah didn't get back to his birth weight for a month. Of course, he was tongue-tied and had thrush so I'm pretty sure I really was starving him.

And I had my 2 week check-up. Apparently, the nurse didn't do the tape right. WARNING: this is gross so don't read further if you don't want to hear my health woes. So she, the nurse, taped not just the incision but like folded the skin over it. Anyways, I was starting to get worried that my incision was infected because it was getting red and smelled like death. And the nurse had told me I couldn't take the tape off but could only trim it if it was starting to peel. Dr. said I was suppose to take it off after 4 days. Sheesh. Anyways, I smell much better now and it isn't infected simply irritated because it was taped weird.

Saturday School part two

So, I had to go to school to do this thing called Innovation Bootcamp. Basically it's a workshop to help people work through a creative process. At one point, we went around campus taking pictures of things that were the result of someone "fixing" something. Someone left a trashbag taped to their seat to put on whenever there was rain, and someone put their helmet on their lock. So my group said, "you know this is something we could design something for. We could make something that lets people protect their helmet and keep their seat dry". So we came up with the "Saddle Cap". It was basically a shower cap you put on your bike seat with your helmet inside, and sinch it down. It was pretty sweet.

Anyway, I got Windows 7 on my laptop, and they've got some sweet features on the windows movie maker. You can pull in a video file, save it, and get it uploaded to Youtube in one full swoop. So, here's a video from a few months ago when we went camping.

Be warned, this film is ACTION PACKED

dressing up and dressing down and dreaming

We got an unexpected package in the mail. Jonah LOVED it. He wanted to try it on immediately. We've never had costumes before so I was kind of surprised by his instant reaction. Apparently, he's been deprived and I didn't even know it.Lately, Nolan has enjoyed dressing down. he always wants to be naked. Kind of drives me nuts. Anyways, here he is dressing down and upside down. ha.
And August fell asleep in Dad's arms tonight. He reminded me of my momma. She falls asleep in random places with her mouth hanging open. ha.
And I don't know who he looks like. Sometimes he looks like Jonah and other times like Nolan...I guess they must all look alike. However, I think that he has the lightest hair of all of them so I'm hoping for a blond/green-eyed boy.

And just so you know I'm so sick of being at home. I've been to 3 places in the past 12 days. Hospital, home and doctor's office. Oh wait, I went to Lizzie's new pad wed night. We walked since it is two blocks away. And I was SO tired afterward. Apparently, being chopped open takes a lot out of you...combined with little sleep. I must say I'm enjoying the baby stage more with August than with the other boys though and I think its because I'm not as stressed. Which is nuts because I'm pretty sure I'm way more tired and sleeplacking with him than with the others. Anyways, I'm babbling. the end.
